Speakers and workshops will cover a range of key industry topics including investment opportunities, trade potential, geological surveys, academia, consulting, infrastructure, training and skills, health and safety, good governance and other important areas of the mining value chain.
2. Variety of Stakeholders
Participants and exhibitors will include representatives from across the entire raw materials value chain from both Latin America and the EU. METS 2018 is designed to maximize opportunities for networking and discussion with these industry leaders.
3. Cutting-edge Technology
See demonstrations of the latest tech developments in the industry and take advantage of networking opportunities to connect with leaders in extractive and processing technology.
It is in the mutual interest of Latin American countries and the EU to exploit the full potential of the extractive industries, both as contributors to the local economies and as suppliers to the sectors of the future, and to do so in a socially, environmentally and economically sustainable way, in full alignment with the UN Sustainable DevelopmentsGoals.
Therefore, the EU and Latin America have stated their shared interest in intensifying the cooperation within the extractive industries on the basis of their complementarities and common objectives.
This will help overcoming challenges and foster economic growth.
The EU, jointly with seven Latin American partner countries (Argentina,Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay) now wants to translate this shared interest into practice through theMineral Development Network Platform (MDNP) project.
